Daddy's Name Begins Production

The new Big Zack TV original series, Daddy's Name began production this week at Frontline Books in Chicago's Hyde Park community.

Daddy's Name (written and directed by Zack Raz) follows the pursuits of "OJ Bridges", an Olympic athlete and "love child" of a civil rights leader, as he tries to reconnect with his father's side of the family in Chicago.

OJ Bridges is played by talented actor Shaun Van Prude who has appeared on "Empire", "Being Mary Jane", and "The Accountant", as well as another Chicago-based web series "The Wood".

OJ's half-sister, Kita, is played by newcomer Sylvia Marie Davis. Sylvia's real-life sons, Trey & BJ, play themselves-- hilariously!

According to the show's creator, Zack Raz, the project was inspired by the need for cultural education through genealogical research. He says that "many young people lack self-respect because they can't respect what they don't know." In today's hip, tech-driven society, a web series was the best route to help educate and inform people simultaneously.

Daddy's Name will premiere on June 23-- the 4th anniversary of Zack's TV (the parent company of Big Zack TV). A sneak peek will be available on Sunday, June 21 (Father's Day).
